From subsidizer to regulator - the changing role of Korean government

Article Abstract:

The various roles played by the Korean government vis-a-vis the business community to spur the development of the country's economy are analyzed. Four models of business-government relations are described, in which the government's role as subsidizer, regulator and rule-setter is specifically identified. The trend indicates that the government's role shifts from subsidizer to regulator to rule-setter as the growth of the economy continues.
