Fruit juice and juice drinks,(UK market)(Industry Overview)

Article Abstract:

The UK market for fruit juice and juice drinks is characterised by strong new product development and a rise in own label drinks at the expense of branded products. The fruit juice market grew by 11% in volume in 1991-95, thanks to factors including innovation, hot summers and a move towards healthier living, but this growth is still far behind the growth recorded by other soft drink sectors. The strength of own label products in mainstream sectors has led manufacturers to focus on premium niches, and this has led to many new products and to extensive advertising support.
