Article Abstract:

Demand Flow Technology (DFT) is important for the Hyster Europe group, which makes forklift trucks. DFT has brought benefits for Hyster Europe and its customers. Logistics and improving supply chain management (SCM) are important for a company that wants to reduce costs and improve services to the level that is needed in the demanding 1997 marketplace. Balancing goals of cost reduction and enhanced customer service can be challenging. Using SCM as a competitive weapon can be too. In Europe, manufacturing is being rationalized.

Profiting from packaging

Article Abstract:

Singapore's Superior Metal Printing Ltd in 1997 was awarded the Overseas Enterprise Incentive. The award, a tax benefit to encourage regionalism, was presented by the Economic Development Board of Singapore. Following its success, other factories are being set up in China and Philippines. Superior Metal's subsidiaries manufacture specialized machinery, flexible packaging, architectural and decorative metalwork, and provide engineering services.
