Knowledge coordination, competence creation and integrated networks in globalised firms

Article Abstract:

Research into the links between the increasing need to construct globalized companies in a knowledge-based context and the structuring of information and communication facilities has looked at a number of key issues, including the analytical relationship between the knowledge-creation process and communication. It has been seen that viewing the globalized company as a collection of competences gives a new insight into the governance mechanisms of the company. Multiple linkages of global networks allow intra- and inter-functional integration to remain extremely flexible.

Article Abstract:

Economic policy-makers in Japan are focusing on globalising the nation's technology policy, while, however, striving to retain its domestic objectives. Internationalization of trade, business and finance, science and technology is attributed for the redundancy of national technology programs, which seek to provide domestic industries with a competitive edge.

Localised production of technology for global markets

Article Abstract:

Assessment of the patenting activities of 569 prominent business enterprises from 13 nations in the 1980s revealed that a majority of them based their native countries as their bases for technology production. This finding reveals that globalisation of technological activities occurred on a minimal basis in the 1980s.
