Learning through short-run economic forecasts in a micro-to-macro model

Article Abstract:

Macroeconomic performance is enhanced by increasing the variety of sources of information on which to base decisions, as shown by experiments simulating the main aspects of an economy which is centrally controlled. The study focused on learning behaviour of companies through internal expectations and access to data on macroeconomic forecasts in the Swedish context. Companies were either allowed a choice of macroeconomic forecasts or were restricted to one source.
