Let Them Drink Wine

Article Abstract:

A recent European court ruling finds that Britain's excise taxes discriminate against wine. The economic and monetary committee of the European parliament feels that the excise tax systems of all member states work against free competition. A new report proposes a common basis for assessing the level of duty.
