Male occupational mobility in Britain

Article Abstract:

A study on the interrelationship of human capital, pay and the corresponding decision to quit an occupation is presented. Occupational quits data was obtained from the National Training Survey. The study supports the human capital theory of occupational mobility where the decision to quit will depend on the characteristics of the individual as well as the characteristics of the individual's occupation. It was observed that young, educated individuals, as well as those with more work experience in an occupation, are those more likely to change occupation.
