Moroccans turning to LANs for quick computerization

Article Abstract:

Morocco has been investing in local area network (LAN) computer systems since 1988, after experiencing problems with mainframe and minicomputer systems. Imports of LAN products increased from $5.5 to $12.7 million between 1991 and 1992. Both IBM compatible and Macintosh computers are being used and Novell has 90% of the market share in network software and Ethernet cards are 85% of the adaptors used. There are no import restrictions on computer hardware or software. A list of distributors and professional associations is presented.
