Northern California Regional Computer Network
Article Abstract:
The Northern California Regional Computer Network (NCRCN) is a consortium of economic developers, educators, health care professionals, librarians, public utilities managers and social services providers. Its aim is to improve the quality of life, educational opportunities and business opportunities in12 counties in northern California by providing high-quality information services. With organizational issues already resolved, participants are focusing on developing the hardware and software components of the NCRCN, which is slcheduled to go on-line in 1995.

Using technology to stimulate rural economic development activity: Nebraska's Community Internet Navigator Program
Article Abstract:
Nebraska's Community Internet Navigator Program is a scheme that uses college students from the University of Nebraska returning to their rural homes during summer vacation to educate the townsfolk on economic development issues through the electronic information highway. This idea arises from the belief that the success of economic development efforts lies much on the access to information by its intended beneficiaries.
