Prices and Price Dispersion on the Web: Evidence from the Online Book Industry

Article Abstract:

This paper uses data collected for a certain period covering books sold online in order to ascertain the effect of advertising and competitive structure, price and price dispersion. The conclusion was that advertising and competitive structure lowered prices and price dispersion.

Internet Car Retailing

Article Abstract:

This paper deals with the effect of Internet car referral services or retailing on dealer pricing of cars in California. From data data sources Autobytel.com and J. D. Power and Associates, it concludes that dealers offer lower prices to customers online.
