Article Abstract:

Turkey's Privatization Administration (PA) hopes to sell $5 billion worth of state-owned enterprises (SSEs) in 1995 but other govt bodies may offer even more. In mid-Feb the PA had authority to sell 22 SSEs, as well as shares of 34 private firms. Turkey has pursued privatization in fits and starts since 1980, but realized $1.3 billion in sales from 1992 through 1994.
