Proposal production: full color and fast!

Article Abstract:

Economic development practitioners are often pressed for time whenever their clients ask them to produce prospect proposals with very little lead time. Fortunately, powerful personal computers, desktop publishing software and graphics software are available to enable economic development offices to produce high-quality prospect proposals with full-color photographs. The different elements of a desktop publishing system and their use in the proposal production process are described.

Desktop publishing: the great equalizer

Article Abstract:

Desktop publishing is a tool that small economic development offices can use to match the ability of large economic development offices to produce high-quality, professional-looking proposals. Other advantages include time savings and flexibile in responding to clients' needs. The minumum requirements for desktop publishing are a computer, a quality printer and a desktop publishing software package. Suggestions on how to get started with desktop publishing are also presented.

Developing instant response with fax-on-demand

Article Abstract:

PSI Energy, the biggest economic development organization in Indiana, has discovered a fax technology that enables the dissemination of site, market and building information via fax simultaneously. The fax technology, which was developed by Core Technology Systems Inc., allows 24-hour access to users via an 800 number and a personal access code. Pre-recorded voice messages guide users in specifying what information to include in the fax.
