Pursuing the factory outlet development

Article Abstract:

Factory outlet stores are probably the fastest-growing sector in retailing today. Outlet stores are proving to be a viable means for communities to revitalize their downtowns, attract new businesses, generate more tax revenues and inject new vitality into local economies. A community interested in attracting a factory outlet development should effectively market itself while offering potential investors incentives.

Attracting factory outlet stores can spell success for a community

Article Abstract:

Many communities are contemplating the integration of factory outlet retailing into their economic development programs. Site selection for factory outlets is dependent on a number of factors, including availability, the particular market to be served, the level of passerby traffic and proximity to major thoroughfares. Several key elements determine the success of an outlet mall solicitation strategy.

Refilling small town retail space

Article Abstract:

Most small towns in the Midwestern states have witnessed the steady erosion of their downtown retail hubs over the years as shopping malls and mass merchandisers made their expansion into rural areas. In Allegan, MI, town officials decided to initiate an effort to reorganize the local economy and attract new retailers to the downtown area. A brief overview of the program is presented.
