Second-hand plant: calculate the cost
Article Abstract:
Buying second-hand construction/excavation equipment in Asia requires careful calculation of all costs. Few industrial buyers would acquire a costly new machine tool without financial advice especially advice related to depreciation. Knowing what it will cost on an hourly basis to own and operate machinery is advisable, and a supplier's estimates should not be the source of information, although log books, service meter units and maintenance records from the supplier should be helpful. A life-time costs analysis should be made.

Low-cost control
Article Abstract:
Process control hardware lasts a lot longer since microprocessors are being put into control systems, or embedded. A control system usually has one central processor for all operations. High-power microprocessors now cost so little that they can go onto a range of printed circuit boards (PCBs) to control specific functions, among them memory storage, mathematical operations, input and output cards and graphics cards for monitors.

Pre-owned plant - checking the costs
Article Abstract:
Used-equipment can cause conservative industrial buyers to act irrationally when it comes to purchasing equipment. The costs costs of owning or operating must be compared and value must be estimated fairly and accurately as to what the machine will cost per hour to own or operate. Repairs usually make up the single highest operating costs.
