Small business earnings

Article Abstract:

The actual earnings from January 1986 to April 2004 are depicted and the net percent of actual earnings in the last three months is reported at a seasonally adjusted minus 20 percent, which is down 5 points. Twenty percent attributed sales volume to lower earnings, while 11 percent attributed increased costs and 10 percent usual seasonal change.

Article Abstract:

A weak sales volume trends is reported with a seasonally adjusted minus 9 percent being the net percent of owners reporting higher sales, a two point decline. The unadjusted figures report higher sales by 21 percent of all owners in the most recent three-month period, down two points, while 36 percent reported lower sales, unchanged.
