Software success

Article Abstract:

Three Australian companies have been successful in the international software business. Whittle Programming and Mincom, which provide software that helps mining companies manage their operations, have developed indispensable tools for many companies. Cruickshank Technology Pty Ltd, which provides software that monitors company assets, has been so successful it was bought out by Geac Computers Pty Ltd in June 1998.

Paving the way to success

Article Abstract:

Road construction tool advancement includes geographical information systems, virtual reality tools and interactive tools. These types of instruments allow road builders to utilize three dimensional models and to understand vast amounts of pavement condition survey information. These tools allow the builder to understand the visual impact of a design and improve the quality of a project.

Pipe ramming success

Article Abstract:

The Penang Water Authority used trenchless technology to finishing a pipe laying project at the Penang International Airport in Malaysia. The project, laying a 600mm concrete lined mild steel pipe 30m up the main road to the airport, was completed by using an Olymp pneumatic pipe rammer manufactured by Tracto-Technik, when the open-trench method was too cost prohibitive.
