The trend is to keep storage times as short as possible in both Europe and Asia. Warehouses are more like dynamic transit shelters than places where goods stay for a long time. Handling and storage systems and are being designed to make movement of goods easier. Different racking combinations can be helpful. Many factors including accounting methods should be considered. Software packages have been designed to help plan storage arrangements for various situations.
