Strategic R&D policy with information lag

Article Abstract:

Governments can still utilize anticipated strategic research and development (R&D) policies for the benefit of the country's economy even if there are constraints associated with information lags. The policies can be still be efficiently employed when a foreign company's preemptive action costs are high compared with the costs of being in a non-beneficial strategic position. This is so because when foreign companies face preventive R&D costs, they are likely to pursue innovations.

The partisan theory and macroeconomic policy under unscheduled regime transfers: a case study of an LDC

Article Abstract:

The partisan theory of determining eco-political patterns of less developed countries with unscheduled transfer of powers is evaluated. The theory states that rightist governments strategically manipulate economy to prevent inflation while leftist governments work for an opportunistic and rapid growth. Studies over Sudan's eco-political cycles show differing economic and political behaviors within regimes and between administrations.

Growth and trade dynamics under regime shifts in Australia

Article Abstract:

A study was carried out to find out whether trade was a major cause of economic growth in Australia during 1971(2)-1994(2) using the Granger methodology of cause and effect. Mathematical analysis was also used to establish the possible change in the framework of the trade growth process as being the effect of a shift from a highly protectionist to a more relaxed trading policy in the mid-1980s.
