That Was the Stumbling Start; Now for the Main Round

Article Abstract:

Since no candidate received a majority of the vote in El Salvador's presidential election, there will be a runoff between Jose Napoleon Duarte, leader of the Christian Democratic Party, and Roberto d'Aubuisson, of the National Conciliation Party, probably on April 29. Problems encountered by voters are described. The runoff election is predicted to be close. If Duarte wins, American aid may be increased and the armed forces will get badly needed weapons.
