The AEDO program: in search of organizational excellence in economic development

Article Abstract:

The Accredited Economic Development Organization designation benefits an economic development group because of the valuable feedback it receives about its effectiveness in a community and the assistance in developing good community relations. The process of accreditation involves three stages, namely, documentation, visitation and accreditation review. The first recipient of such an accreditation was the Hamilton County Alliance in May 1995.

AEDO accreditation: a tool for increased organizational competitiveness

Article Abstract:

The Accredited Economic Development Organization program of the American Economic Development Council grants accreditation to qualified economic development groups through a two-stage review process. An economic development group usually applies for accreditation either because it feels that it has all the required documentation and programs or because it merely wants its programs reviewed in preparation for later accreditation.
