Lost ideal

Article Abstract:

The Ideal Home Exhibition in 1996 is not expected to be as inspiring as it was in 1966 because its exhibits will already be familiar to its visitors. Only one housebuilder is featured in the 1996 exhibition, although more are planned for the 1997 event. More emphasis should be placed on innovative designs if more housebuilders are to be attracted. Barratt chose to exhibit its work in its own show village in preference to participating in the 1994 exhibition.
