The Polite Highwaymen of Uganda

Article Abstract:

Ugandan police and soldiers are infamous for robberies committed on the main highway between the Ugandan capital and the border of Kenya. The national army is in a state of disarray. The government is unable to provide any degree of security. Efforts by international aid organizations to stabilize Ugandan currency and rebuild its economy have been unsuccessful.

The Pilot Who May Need His Parachute

Article Abstract:

West German defense minister, Manfred Worner, received a critical response to his firing of the third-ranking West German general. Until this incident his tenure in office has gone smoothly. His own military background has aided him. He has a good relationship with the Reagan Administration and the Pentagon.
