The hidden costs

Article Abstract:

Low data storage costs is one of the major reasons that data warehousing has become popular, but approximately 20% of financial accounting and reporting needs to be managed by ad hoc, non-standard processing. A data warehouse is a durable and flexible software architecture which adds structure to businesses data. However, there are hidden costs to data warehousing as managers often need different forms of information and operational decisions are have greater importance to line managers than ledger-based reconciliation.

Article Abstract:

Forklift attachments have a high efficiency and pose little danger to products and handlers. Despite these good qualities, other forms of handling such as cranes and block and tackle are used. Furthermore, handballing methods require hours for filling and more time discharging products. However, by using push pull attachments and slip sheets, suppliers can cut the cost and spend little time on labor.

Technology cuts warehousing costs

Article Abstract:

Warehousing costs can be halved if technology is utilized. There are numerous warehouse software packages that can provide just-in-time deliveries, computerized stock location and computerized stock forecasting. These programs can determine how quickly particular stock items move and can update stock rotation and levels each day.
