The macroeconomic consequences of terror and the case of Israel

Article Abstract:

Israel is a classic subject for study of terror during its 55 years of existence. The paper theorizes that terror accounts for lower investments, incomes and consumption due to governmentEs higher expenditure on security. Continued terror is expected to reduce consumption by 5% in 2004 and estimates that terror is responsible for the loss of up to 10% of the GDP growth for the last three years.
