The detailed employment statistics available within the sports industry are presented as an ideal setting for labor market research. The degree to which findings from the issues explored can be extrapolated to the labor market as a whole is discussed.

Cartel behavior and amateiurism in college sports

Article Abstract:

The effect of the cartel behavior of the National Collegiate Athletic Association on the enrollment of basketball players in colleges is described. The comparison of the earnings of professional sportspersons and college sportspersons is discussed.
