What can European experience teach developing countries about integration?

Article Abstract:

The effective economic integration undertaken by European countries offers several lessons that can be used by other regional economic blocs. In terms of political design, the integration undertaken by Europe was based not on economics but rather on a political ideology that brought about economic benefits. In terms of economic policies, liberalisation is implemented to make the integration more successful. Prioritizing the issue of market access is essential in the formulation of policies for indepth integration.

Goals and own goals in European trade policy

Article Abstract:

Key objectives of the EC Common Agricultural Policy and other trade laws are presented. European trade policy closely adhere to the principle and benefits of free trade. On protectionism, the EC clearly favors anti-dumping duties over other existing protectionist policies. However, economic policies have at times been muddled with irrational decisions that are the result of poor communication between the government and the industries.
