Window furnishings

Article Abstract:

The UK market for curtains, window accessories and blinds is expected to be valued at 972 million pounds sterling in 1996, of which curtains will account for 53% and blinds 21%. The market has declined by 3% since 1991 and will not recover until 1998 when it will increase by 2% in real terms. Introducing new product ranges and responding to fashion trends will increase sales. Consumer confidence, levels of disposable income and house sales are important factors which affect the market.
