Aggregation and optimization with state-dependent pricing

Article Abstract:

A simple and special model of monetary dynamics is presented which provides contributions to the analysis of feedback effects. The feedback effects are considered by allowing the aggregate price level to autonomously influence firm profitability. A dynamic version of monopolistically competitive price setting is developed which makes possible the examination of optimal state-dependent pricing. The model can used to analyze important issues in menu cost pricing studies.

A Romanian renaissance

Article Abstract:

Romanian universities are to be given greater autonomy as part of a wider reform program. Education receives most of its funding from the state, accounting for an average of some 90% in 1994. The aim is to continue to provide support until more funding can be achieved from research, tuition fees and other sources. There is a shortage of teachers, and a need for more specialists in banking, economics, amrketing and other fields stimulated by economic transition.
