An Astaire and Kelly model of argument

Article Abstract:

Students often have trouble in presenting arguments when they write essays. There are two models for presenting arguments, and they can be likened to the dancing styles of Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly. One is technical, while the other is more graceful and natural. Students should seek to understand the structure of what they read, in order to structure their own writing. Essays are a form of dialogue between teachers and students, and students can improve their style by understanding this.
