Article Abstract:

An analysis of the potential impact of the tsunami on the island of Sri Lanka and how, with the right aid, the tsunami could actually help the island overcome two decades of conflict between the Tamil Tigers and the Government. The tsunami has done an estimated US$1.3 bil worth of damage to Sri Lanka, killing 35,000 people and displacing 850,000.

Article Abstract:

An analysis of the impact of the Indian ocean tsunami on the people of Indonesia.It is contended that despite years of civil unrest, the tsunami has brought out best in the indonesian people, with the losses suffered throughout the region bring out a feeling of solidarity in Indonesians for the fellow country people.
