Colonial writers lost in the post

Article Abstract:

Postcolonial theory (PT) is a fashionable term which is added to a number of similar terms such as poststructuralism, postmodernism and deconstructionism, although its exact meaning is undecided. Some believe that it describes societies following colonialism, whilst others say it defines the historical period which comprises colonialism after the second world war. PT is a new field, although its validity is as yet unknown.
