Back animal lab, top surgeon demands

Article Abstract:

Tipu Aziz, one of the leading brain surgeons in the United Kingdom, has attacked the Government for its failure to defend animal research at Oxford University. Aziz claims that authority figures from all areas, ranging from politicians to National Health Service Trusts and universities were distancing themselves from what they perceive as the political hot potato of animal research.

MPs face fire from disgruntled scientists

Article Abstract:

Around 150 early-career scientists have been given the chance to question members of the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee at a Parliamentary meeting organised by the Royal Society of Chemistry. Young scientists have warned MPs that they face a crisis of conscience when undergraduates asked them to recommend a career in science.
