From a GDR prison to a Cold War of words

Article Abstract:

Barbara Einhorn, an academic at Sussex University who, in 1983, was arrested in East Berlin on charges of violating the German Democratic Republic's Criminal Code, criticises Anthony Glees, professor of contemporary history at Brunel University and author of "The Stasi Files", arguing that Glees' work tacitly accuses a number of academics, including herself, of being Stasi spies and is calculated to damage the reputations of those it names. Einhorn argues that the soundness of Glees' research is questionable and that his reliance on the validity of Stasi records as the basis for his research is unsound.

An analysis of the controversial Catholic organisation Opus Dei and the way it operates on university campuses in the UK.
