Bodies of evidence

Article Abstract:

Darwin's theories of evolution have left human beings with one puzzle-why our bodies are still susceptible to a vast number of diseases and infections. We are prone to infections because the infective agents multiply faster than our natural defences. Other problems stem from the fact that our bodies were designed to function effectively in prehistoric times and have not adapted to the 20th century. Some observers feel that all diseases need to be considered in the light of evolutionary theories.
