Article Abstract:

Seventy seven percent of universities are introducing an element of performance-related pay (PRP) and only six percent have ruled out PRP, according to a survey of 129 higher education institutions by the University and Colleges Employers' Association (UCEA). The survey found that 81 percent of universities are introducing, or plan to introduce, new improved 'performance management' systems to identify the best and worst staff.
