Surrey seeks escape from state control

Article Abstract:

The possibility has arisen as the university's vice-chancellor has commented that the biggest risk factor in Surrey's strategy is the government's higher education policy and unless something is done about it then a point could be reached where the university feels strongly enough to believe that it needs to become independent.
