Coming out of the broom closet

Article Abstract:

Paganism is enjoying a revival in Britain where modern witchcraft has led to the creation of significant political alliances between environmental and civil rights issues. Many modern witches see paganism itself as a civil rights issue because of its view of nature as a sacred space. Paganism's belief that nature belongs to everyone allows ordinary people to feel rich and included. Earth Saboteurs for the Liberation Front was one of many pagan groups involved in the anti-road protest at Twyford Down, while occult forces form part of the campaigning process for ecopagan campaigning group Dragon.
