Article Abstract:

Olufunmilayo Olopade, human genetics professor at the University of Chicago, is establishing a multidisciplinary team that comprises of sociologists, biopsychologists, pathologists, molecular biologists and geneticists to study the alarming rates of breast cancer prevalent among African American women. This study would help to determine and control the environmental and social factors that trigger the manifestation of the breast cancer susceptibility genes found in them.
