The rise and fall of 'silent girly-girls in G-strings'

Article Abstract:

A return to feminist discourse on campus is needed as hypersexualisation of youth and 'raunch culture' have exposed women to sex at a younger age and left them feeling insecure and dissatisfied. At a conference at Goldsmiths, University of London, in June 2006, Susie Orbach, author and psychotherapist, spoke of young women suffering from 'desperate insecurity and bidy hatred' despite success in the world of school and work.

Research boost will bring jobs bonanza

Research students were told at the National Postgraduate Committee (NPC) conference that their employment prospects were the best ever. Young academics are set to benefit from a Europe-wide boom in research jobs.
