Heads or tales?

Article Abstract:

Students on the new two-year part-time MA screenwriting course launched in 1996 at Liverpool John Moores University, England, have found the advice of visiting screenwriters invaluable. John Dooley, one of more than 20 students on the course, explains that all the acclaimed screenwriters who have acted as guest lecturers have stories to tell about the difficulties of starting out. Course leader Harry Pepp wants the students to be under no illusions about the employment prospects for screenwriters. Resident tutor Jaden Clark admits that people trying to launch a screenwriting career are taking a gamble.
