How to ignite bright sparks

The Excellence Challenge, a 3-year, 190 million (pounds sterling) government program, aims to increase enrollment of the underprivileged and gifted from target schools at universities from 45.12 percent to 60 percent by 2004. CATS among the pigeons

Article Abstract:

Credit Accumulation and Transfer Schemes (CATS) are becoming popular with most higher education institutions. In order to work effectively the academic year would have to change from three terms to two semesters. Under CATS students earn 120 credits per academic year, most of the credits being earned in the second and third years of a degree course. Modularisation does not yet allow students complete freedom of choice over subjects.
