'I love you - you'll look great on my CV.'

Article Abstract:

Men are adopting a new attitude towards relationships and love, perceiving intimacy as a serious opportunity for personal development. Men are attempting to assert authority and control over love by expressing it in terms of the workplace, possibly as a means of retaliating against feminism. Men frequently refer to 'working at relationships' while failing to perceive love as romantic, with some men treating intimate relationships as a training exercise. Men typically fail to consider the losses that can be incurred through relationships and focus primarily on the perceived gains.

Relatives' values

Article Abstract:

Perceptions of child abuse are affected by culture, as sis shown by a study at Nottingham University, England. Social work students from different cultures rate the same episodes with different degrees of seriousness. Boys and a girl swimming naked in a pool, and a child smacked after she ran into the road were two examples that elicited different reactions. Physical punishment was also common for older people when they were children. Consensus is important in assessing what constitutes abuse, and there is confusion due to a lack of consensus.
