It's a downward spiral of decline

Article Abstract:

A number of subjects taught at secondary schools in the United Kingdom are facing a decline in the number of qualified teachers as not enough students are taking the subjects at university. This situation is creating a vicious circle as the lack of qualified teachers means that secondary school students are not able to take the courses, meaning that fewer people are then going on to university to gain the necessary qualifications.
