It's the policy, stupid: Political Islam and US foreign policy

Article Abstract:

Contemporary U.S. foreign policy and political Islam share a deep connection, but American legislators must learn to distinguish between the numerous global Islamist parties and design different policy approaches toward them. This calls for a greater understanding of the factors that motivate Islamic parties and the support they receive, particularly the way in which some American policies weaken the appeal of moderate Islamist groups, while encouraging the more radical organizations.

How to think about the Crusades

Article Abstract:

Crusades were a crime against humanity and condemnation of Crusades is based on the premise that they were a barbaric, unprovoked war of extermination and conquest, waged against a superior and incomparably more tolerant civilization. However, in the 21st century when the very idea of a holy war is alien to Western sensibilities, it is the US that is identified by its critics with religious fanaticism and military capacity of the crusaders.

Unilateralism and partnership: American foreign policy

Article Abstract:

The U.S. strategy is widely accused of being unilateral by design and is often accused of being imbalanced in favor of military methods and is obsessed with terrorism. The United States' National Security Strategy is one of the partnerships that strongly affirm the valid role of NATO and other U.S. alliances including the UN.
