No place of terrorism

Article Abstract:

No terrorist campaigns have been undertaken from within a university in the United Kingdom since the late 1960s, but universities should beware of foreign terrorist organizations seeking to recruit students based in UK campuses for terrorist activities abroad. People conspiring in the UK for foreign terrorist campaigns can be prosecuted under UK law. Terrorist groups do not overtly operate in UK universities and usually rely upon their own associate organisations for weapons procurement and funding. Political wings of terrorist groups may openly recruit students, however, such as Sinn Fein.

A place at the table of despair

Article Abstract:

Psychotherapist and writer Susie Orbach argues that psychoanalysis has lost sight of the link between mind and body when dealing with victims of eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia and compulsive eating. Analysts and therapists need to explore individuals' statements about body size, food ingestion and food refusal in their own terms rather than immediately interpreting them as an expression of a hidden problem. Interpretation without engagement with the lived experience of patients leaves individuals suffering from eating disorders stranded in the symbolic.
