Old classics find new life in webworld

Article Abstract:

A member of the English faculty at Oxford University describes his experiences with the e-Lit option at the university, which takes English students on a nine-week journey through cyberspace. The e-Lit course is summarised as being "different", with the difficulty of a room full of machines - computers - having to be overcome, the apparent unrelatedness of the course to traditional linguistic or literary studies needing to be dealt with and the never-ending nature of the class needing to be addressed.
