The UN must swap living in the past for the real world

Article Abstract:

The spectacular failure of the United Nations (UN) over the Iraq War crisis could have delivered the best time to reform the body and make it relevant. It is argued that in order to become relevant, the UN has to undertake a process of reform, but, paradoxically, it also needs to acknowledge the inequality of power and make itself more democratic, relax its absolute prohibition of the use of force in order to make the use of force less frequent and become more realistic in order to fulfil the ideals of its founders.

'Uterine fury' - now sold in chemists

Article Abstract:

An examination of Victorian attitudes towards female sexuality. In Victorian times, women were warned against giving in to their "wanton feelings" and women who had a strong sexual appetite were regarded as nymphomaniacs and were subject to medical treatments. Many doctors in Victorian times treated the clitoris as "the source of all evil", with some doctors going so far as to perform clitoridectomies - the removal of the clitoris - in order to "treat" masturbation and nymphomania.
