Article Abstract:

An analysis of the history of the department of politics and international studies at Warwick University ahead of the annual conference of The Political Studies Association, which is due to take place at Lincoln University between 5-8 April 2004. The politics department at Warwick was founded in 1965, while international studies started off as a separate department before joining with the politics department to create the current set-up.

Road to peace is paved with small miracles

Article Abstract:

An account of the efforts being made by Eran Zucker, an Israeli Jew, and Waleed, a Palestinian Muslim, to understand the point of view of each other as part of an initiative run by the Olive Tree Educational Trust, an organisation co-founded by Steve Miller, deputy vice-chancellor of City University in London, England. The initiative run by the Trust involves 16 Palestinians and Israelis living and studying together at City University.

Article Abstract:

An analysis of the efforts being undertaken by universities and colleges in the UK to minimise the number of students that drop out. It is argued that the imperative to hold on to students has caused universities to change the way in which they assess students, deliberately not giving them a hard time so they do not simply give up and leave.
