Oxford Brookes 'fails' osteopathy graduates

Article Abstract:

Nearly 50 students could claim compensation amounting to around UKPd1 mil from Oxford Brookes University following the confirmation that a third intake of students, made up of 11 students who joined the university in 2000, has joined a mass complaint that their degree course failed to properly equip them for a career. It had earlier been reported that 37 students who joined the osteopathy course at Brookes in 1998 and 1999 were seeking a full refund of their course fees, about UKPd4,000, and compensation of as much as UKPd28,000 following the failure of the university to gain professional accreditation for the degree.

Did the Oxford blues turn red?

Article Abstract:

Issues relating to whether or not the communists managed to establish a spy ring at Oxford University that came close to matching the success of the spy ring set up at Cambridge University in the 1930s are examined. Anthony Glees, professor of politics at Brunel University, argues that just because there have not been any named and exposed spies from Oxford does not mean that such a ring did not exist, while KGB archives released in 1998 reveal that an extensive recruitment campaign was underway in Oxford during the 1930s.
