John Virtue, professor of fine art at Plymouth University, has used the city of London as the inspiration for his art. This work is being exhibited at the National Gallery, in an exhibition called John Virtue: London Paintings, and at the Courtauld Institute of Art, Somerset House, both in London, in an exhibition called London Drawings.

An overview of the history of the publication of Joan Blaeu's Atlas maior in 1662. The Atlas maior was made up of 11 volumes containing 596 maps and commentaries in Latin and its publication marked the end of a battle for domination of the atlas industry that had gripped Amsterdam for years.

The Imperial Cancer Research Fund is conducting research into the genetic mechanisms that rule malignant cells that cause cancers. If it could be discovered exactly what stops a cell from dividing than the prospects of finding a cure are increased.
